Small red beans are similar to red kidney beans, except that they are smaller in size, and, in our opinion, their flavor is slightly different. Small red beans are also called Mexican Red Beans. They hold their shape and firmness when cooked. Small red beans can be used in soups, salads, chili and Creole dishes. The 5 gallon bucket holds approximately 35 pounds of small red beans.
Be prepared and have your food storage on hand!
Each bucket of dry beans is sealed with oxygen absorbers. Each bucket has a tear tab lid which contains a rubber gasket. Our plastic food grade buckets may be reused several times. If stored in a cool, dry place, beans should last 10+ years. In an emergency situation, boiling the beans in water for 20 minutes will kill any bacteria and will still give you some nutrition.
