Dried Pinto beans are the most-consumed dried bean in the United States. Pinto beans have a beige background strewn with reddish brown splashes of color. When cooked, their colored splotches disappear, and they become a beautiful pink color. The #10 can holds approximately 5.75 pounds/12 cups of beans.
Be prepared and have your food storage on hand!
Each #10 can is sealed with an oxygen absorber. If stored in a cool, dry place, beans should last 10+ years. In an emergency situation, boiling the beans in water for 20 minutes will kill any bacteria and will still give you some nutrition.
