The small, shiny dried black bean or "turtle bean" is very nutritious and rich in antioxidants. Great in soups and side dishes. The #10 can holds approximately 6 pounds/12 cups of black beans. Be prepared and have your food storage on hand! Each #10 can is sealed with an oxygen absorber. If stored in a cool, dry place, beans should last 10+ years. In an emergency situation, boiling the beans in water for 20 minutes will kill any bacteria and will still give you some nutrition. |
